CH 7 crash footage – Warrego Highway January 2012

Option Audio Corporate is working with RoadTek to improve road worker safety across the state.

RoadTek, a commercial business within the Department of Transport and Main Roads, utilises 'bump trucks' to protect road workers from oncoming traffic when delivering and maintaining the state's road network.

Option Audio Corporate recording systems installed on bump trucks have captured a recent crash on the Warrego Highway involving a nine-tonne truck. The following aired on the Channel 7 News on 15 February, 2012.

Project specifications include:

  • Fit mobile DVR recording systems, cameras and screens to the fleet of bump trucks operational in the field.
  • Fit each truck with one front and two reversing cameras plus an additional FLIR Thermal Imaging Camera mounted on the mast.
  • All cameras and audio recorded back to a DVR (Digital Video Recording Unit) mounted in a secure lock box in the cab of the vehicle - this ensures data integrity of the video footage.
  • A 7 Inch LCD with quad view is mounted in the cabin to assist the operator in reversing and monitoring.
